Upschluß Party this Saturday, August 2, starting at 8:00 p.m.

Everybody is welcome to join the actual and virtual walkers this Saturday at "alberto ukebana" at Urbanstr.116/2.HH aufgang 5, Berlin-Kreuzberg (U8 Schönleinstraße).

Video, audio, photographs, and more stories, will be shared during our informal meeting (no more walking, just talking, and please bring some food-drinks to share, with others, thanks). See you all there!

Update from the last day!

I wish to thank Karin and Marie-Louise for inspiring talk during a good walk today. Special thanks to Inese who finished the project with me at the same place where we started 10 days ago. I was also nicely surprized to see Jürgen greeting us at the end of our walk with a box of chocolate - danke schön! Big thanks to all virtual walkers from Stuttgart, Exeter, New York, Toronto, Helsinki and Caracas. I am sure we will keep in touch.

Update from the eight day, Tuesday, July 22

I owe many thanks to today´s fantastic "walkers and talkers": Robin, Diego, Ursula, Michellee, Inese and Willy. It was great to share diverse stories of personal, artistic, philosophical, linguistic and historical displacements with you. Special thanks to my virtual walker, Kaspar, and to his great performing energy for walking with all of us tody.

Update from the seventh day, Monday, July 21

Many thanks to Andrea, my actual walker, and Susan, my virtual walker from New Your City. It was certainly one of the longest and hardest days. Thanks for being with me!

Update from the sixth day, Sunday, July 20

Thanks to a great company of Antke, Inese, Joachim and Jürgen, who joined us on the way. Thanks everyone for wonderful walk and stimulating stories of personal, linguistic and philosophical meditations on walls, borders, exile and performance.
Tomorrow´s meeting is as scheduled, at the intersection of Potsdamer Chaussee and Außenweg at 10: 00 a.m. I will take bus #638 or bus #135 at S-U Rathaus Spandau that takes me directly there. If anyone would prefer to ride a bus with me, let´s meet at the bus stop at 9:30 a.m. (location as yesterday, on the map).

Update from the fifth day, Saturday, July 19

Many thanks to Inese who bravely walked with me, all day long, in spite of the rain, wind, and getting her feet wet and dirty. It was great to share the stories of personal and cultural displacement and talk about the role of an artist in society in ... three languages. I really enjoyed the visit to the first opened Border Tower, now Museum (Grenztrum) at Nieder-Meuendorf, and climbing three floors of those impossibly narrow metal stairs to survey the peaceful land and waters around us.
ATTENTION: Tomorrow's meeting is at S-U-Spandau at the bus stop #671 ( in front of the Rathaus) at 10:10 a.m. (the bus leaves at 10:23 a.m.)

Update from the fourth day, Friday, July 18

Thanks to Rolf and Theo for unexpected, but valuable stories and photos about "the life before/beside the Wall". Special thanks to Phil, my virtual walker from Exeter, England who accompanied my today. Thanks to Jürgen and Berenika for checking on me and my feet.

Update from the third day, Thursday, July 17

Thanks to Mimma and Kaspar for joining me. Today´s walking experince was very diverse as we were traversing rich/poor neighborhoods, industrial sites, and wonderfully green park/lake areas. We have seen different types of walls along with the diverse remains of the border.
ATTENTION: Tomorrow´s meeting is at 10:00 a.m., right at the intersection of 3 small streets: Veltheimstr, Burgfrauenstr and Berlinerstr in Reinickendorf area. The meeting point is literally next to the #120 bus stop, that will bring you here from many downtown U-S-Bahn Stations (I am taking this bus tomorrow from S-Wedding, at 9:30 a.m.).

Update from the second day, Wednesday, July 16

The second day walk went as scheduled, but we were proceeding slower than yesterday because there were more talks on the way, two unexpected visits and the afternoon rain.
Thanks to my old walkers, Inese and Berenika, and to Jürgen, Paul and Waltraud for joining me today. I also wish to thank my virtual walker, Kaspar, currently based in Stuttgart, whose good energy and connection with my walks make my feet move in the right direction.

General Information

Welcome to all Actual and Virtual Walkers! I will start on Tuesday, July 15th, at 9:00 a.m., in the South, in Berlin-Treptow, proceeding counter-clockwise, always beginning in the morning. The exact time and locations of the daily departures along with important updates will be posted on this blog, so please check it regularly.
